Seng Bee Riders (SBR)

Had been trying hard these few years to revive the group once Seng Bee had but always it came to a halt due to lack of riders and commited riders too.

However now with a few more riders now armed with passion for the like of Relax cycling, Action cycling, Style riding, you are most welcome to join us.

This group has revived mostly due to Gavin aka gvnmorris who had managed to form up City Ride has drawn much interest from much riders with pure TC session during weekdays on ad-hoc basis.
Other than City Ride on weekdays on ad-hoc basis, we had now every wednesday nite ride for roadbikers who want to do a little bit more cycling but on a more relax pace of 30-35km/h on Coastal road.
Then came Saturday nite where all riders will meet up 8.30pm for a nice leisure ride to various part of Singapore.

Lets count the total strength of riders we will have if all turn up.

Finally, Im back here blogging again..
It has been a long stop.
Has been wondering how come I can blog so much last time.
But now, nothing seem to come out again.
Perhaps too many things to deal with.
Or just to say things has been uneventful..

But recalling back the few months in 2010.
Perhaps nothing really spectacular has happen.
Cos still Single.

Had a very nice family trip to Taipei during CNY period.
Even though it has been raining for the 5 days while we were there.
But we had enjoyed every moment together.

Then in March, I was back there again.
For the bike show in Taipei.
1st time been to such a big bike show.
Luckily managed to get back quite a few contacts.
And now making sure it will grow..

Other than these 2 overseas trip
Now every sat nite is cycling time once again.

End of Year 2009

Year 2009 is coming to an end.

And its the time for anyone or everyone to make a new year resolution on what to achieve next year.

And I actually completed this in Feb 2010..

Oh gosh.. its been a longgg time since I update this blog

Anyway its already 2 months into year 2010.
Been Bz with shop business and my volunteer life.
Guess that its time to do something for my own personal life.

Other than that nothing much for me to woryy about.

Had my degree last year.
Had a few planned trip this year.
Had formed quite a new cycling group.

So now just got to wait and see..

Wooh.. such a long time since I last blog.
And this seem to be like a ghost blog.
No more entries, no more visits.
What have I been doing lately..

Sept - Last month in DLS then reservist for F1
October - Back to Bicycleshop again. Took up CEHA course (part time propety agent)
Nov - Reservist fo APEC and other events depend...

Its been a long time since I had last BBQ and having a chalet.
24Oct to 25thOct - M&E BBQ was held.
A time of get together away from work.
Well, im one of the ex-staff planning this BBQ together with -
Gladys, Huijing and Jennifer

Not a bad turnout other then the few missing out.
We still have plently of fun BBQing.
Mahjonging, pokering.
What a fun time we have together..
Guess that there will be much more activities coming up..
Just wonder which will come first.

Other than this chalet..
Dun think theres much more to share at this moment.
Just see when I can start to write abit more stuffs here.

Some other things to share...

Life is so unpredictable.
Whatever good in the past might not be better in the future.
And this is very true..
Just a few years ago..
I thought that I'm so well blessed with a large group of friends/buddies.
Never did I knew that all is just like an empty shell.
What a joke rite..
What I heard is everyone is 'BUSY'
And what a nice word I have learnt.

Best is yet to come..
Knew this friend for more half of my life.
And only did I know that he is getting married via a friend for his invitation.
Cool rite??

Bowling Session

After weeks of practicing for our bowling.

The day of competition came on 26 June 2009.

And here we are Pin Twister of M&E Team 2.

Make up by Lynn, Kah Imn, Gladys and me.

After setting our target high..

Getting personal ball.

Customise T-shirt.

But our form never came..

Everything went wrong.

We never meet our target..

But at least we were noticed..

For coming on with team wear,

And the personal ball.

Loses this time but we will come back stronger next time.

So much for June..

And the other news is Blackie Lancer has make way for Whitey Lancer EX.

In the 1st day, stock rims into OZracing rims...

End of May

The month of May is near approaching.
And I had turn 29 this month.
Kinda worrying for me,
Cos getting older.

So now its time to do something more important.
After 29 years in Singapore..
Having to go thru different stages of life.
There is still aplently for me to see.

What I had seen till date is,
Never judge the book by its cover.
This is very true.
Never ever be a KPO.
Just mind your own business is enough.
Never think that they will be thankful to you.
To be a colleague-in-arm.

Now bicycle business isnt like the previous generation.
It has becoming more of a trend.
You will be upgrading parts when the newer model is out.
Changing bicycle when the lifespan is nearing.
Or getting apparels to fill up your closet.
Its isnt just a plain tee-shirt, short, running shoe and a cap.
Its now jersey, tights, cycling shoe, helmet and sunglass.

This year..
Not much of a celebration like the previous year.
When Im in BKK..
This year, Im with my some sec sch friends..
Eating out at TCC.
But 1 thing for sure.
Thats something great.

So will look forward for better achievements for the on coming months.
And most importantly stay healthly..

1st Quarter 2009

This title seem like an quarterly report.
To me, its not an report.
Just an ordinary update of myself.
To those who might have long forgotten.
Just to remind you of my name.
Im Benjamin.
2009 has been a good start from my point of view.
Below are the few points of what is good...
1. An overseas trip to bkk..
2. Started my work in DLS..
3. Helping my childhood friend for his wedding.
4. Bicycleshop experiencing higher sales.
5. Started to play soccer.. Futsal to be exact.
6. Got a new laptop.
7. And able to meet 2 long time buddies whom i never see them for a year.
To review the good events that had happen..
1. An overseas trip to bkk..
You will say.. againWell, bkk is too cheap to go to.Thats why went there again to get more cycling jersey.To be sold over here..

2. Going back to DLS.
Makes alot of people wonder.
Why would I give up doing my own business.
I never give up..
Just that Im still young.
So its good for me to see more..
And always remind myself dun be so KPO..
Otherwise kenna stab you also dunno.

3. My childhood friend wedding.
My long time friend and now my closest neighbour.
Ya, he just stay a unit away from me.
The most on time wedding I ever went to.
The least 'sabo' on the brothers.
Simply well organised.

4. Bicycleshop experiencing higher sales.
Indeed, a surge of cyclist coming for better products.
Even at this point of time when economy is bad.
So it had actually helped us.
Although the Yen had caused some prices to go up.

5. DLS futsal team..
We had joined a corporate league.
So after a few years of inactive soccer..
Now got the chance for competitive soccer.
Got a new pair of boots.
So will be playing more often..

6. Got this new Asus Laptop.
White colour again..
What am I thinking

7. Long lost buddies??
Sure anot..
Buddies never meet up since a year ago.
You must be kidding..

Bangkok Trip 2009

What a start to a new year.
Going to Bangkok again.
Well this trip was sort of planned for.
For the bicycle jerseys, go-karting, shopping and makans..

The day has arrived.
14th Jan
Time of flight 1915hrs.
So all of us are making our way down before 1700hrs.

Pior to booking since nov 2008.
Riots in Bangkok causes fear for any travellers.
Who might be stuck over at the airport.

Luckily for us,
The situation is now peaceful.
But strange happening..
Bangkok weather turn cold.

Terence, Danny, Choo and me checked it our luggage.
And we proceed for our dinner at Popeye(wonder if i spell it right)
Budget airline dun serve free food.
So have your meals before the flight is recommended.
Proceed in and off we go..
Wahaaa.. BKK here we come.

1st Day @ BKK
Well this first day is kinda short.
Reach BKK @ around 2100hrs (their time)
Checked in hotel and went over Big C.
Shop for tibits, drinks and other necessary items.
Grab some food.
And back to hotel for supper and our rest.

2nd Day @ BKK
The real start for our trip.
Breakfast @ hotel.
The proceed to MBK for some tailor shirt.
Well.. tailor shirt in Bkk is simply cheap.
Lunch @ MBK-Fifth Ave
Proceed over to a bicycle shop for jersey.
In total bought 20pcs of it.
Went over to RCA for another objective.
Go-Karting...
2 rounds and we are back to hotel area.
Had the dinner along the road side.
Cheap...
Supper as usual..
Ham n Cheese bread from 7-11
Deep fried chicken skin.
Bottle coke and other road side snacks..
2 of us getting to fall sick....

3rd Day @ BKK
Went MBK for fitting..
Then went over to Chinatown for another bicycleshop.
Bought another 5pcs of long sleeve jersey.
Along the way at Chinatown..
You can find cheap chinese medical stuffs..
Lunch @ one of the 'Yong Tau Fu' style shop.
Cheap but small serving..
So 2 bowls might be needed for some.
Went back hotel to rest while waiting for another 2 friends to arrive.
Again we went back to the same road side stall for our dinner.

4th Day @ BKK
Weekend market..
Shop awhile and went over to Chinatown..
Went into one medical hall..
Then to 'Nam Sing' for shark fins..
Well still feel that 'Hai Wai Tian' is much better.
Another trip to RCA again..
This time another 3 rounds..

After round 3...
Proceed back to hotel..
Cos JJ too sick to carry on..
Dinner was then bought at the road side stall..
Thats all for another night..

5th Day @ BKK
A Sunday of Shopping..

6th Day @ BKK
Last min shopping again..
Managed to spend all the cash intended for jerseys.
And now on the way back to Singapore.
Reached Sg and its all to an end.

But doesnt know what to blog over here.

Just to say 2009 has arrived.
It will be a brand new year to look toward.
However I haven really come out with my New Year Resolution.

But more or less,
It shall be almost the same as last year.

In 2009 what is the things I wanna do..
There will be some overseas trip coming up...
Jan - BKK
Mar - Taiwan (maybe)
May - Australia (depend)

After gotten my hard earned, slacked through degree.
Im likely to return back to the working world.
Will be going back to my Ex-company...
But shall also depend on the offer.

Will be planning a cycling trip in Desaru during Feb.
Who is interested to join in the fun??
This likely to form up the 1st half of the event for this year.

As smooth as we can plan.
With hipcups here and there.
The parcel of life.
Unexpected, Uncertain.

My life I lead,
The way I want.
With mind I set,
The heart I want.

The stick of yours,
Ain't my liking.
So induce your mind,
As if I dun mind.

Towards 2009

Once again shall wish Haiyen, Happy Birthday again for her Bdae on 27/12
May her wish come true..

Year 2008 is coming to an end in 3 days time.
And let put the past behind and look forward for 2009..
This very year is indeed a nice year to look back at.

Shall end shortly here.
While I'll be writing another entry for 2009 resolution.

Effort=Results

Based on the past few events/happenings.
We can say that in order to achieve good results.
A certain degree of effort has to be produced.

Just like my very 1st marathon.
I had came back within 6hrs,
From my very own timing..
It can be said to be quite a good result.
As there still people making their way back.
Why would I say to achieve results effort has to be in.

Due to the laziness in me..
I never trained enough for this 42km.
So along the way for my 42km,
Im getting cramps, sore feet, mental fatigue.
So for 2009 marathon,
I will get myself ready and prepared.
For the time of sub 5hr.

The other event for the effort shall be my studies.
Well, I know for myself.
Im very lazy to study,
Yet still got to study.
Thus I took up the degree in Construction Management.
Along the Semester...
I slack, slack and more slack.

So the roller coaster ride is going down n down.
From the potential 1st class hon.
To basically a pass deg after sem 4.
At that point of studies.
I was totally off..
Imaging in class surfing net, sleeping.
Then revision for exams..
Came just the day before.
So got some low grades which pull everything down.

Thats goes the same to working life.
In order to get the work done
To say the 8hr of working time.
I guess most people are able to do so,
With a specific task or objective.
8hrs can say to be 480mins

People complain that they cant get the work done.
Then why not staying back for a few more hr to get it done.
Or just to say it all due to their attitudes?
How about an example of NO TIME

Let say....
8.30am you should be reporting to work,
But company is gracious enough to give you 10mins more.
So you came in @8.40am
You drag your tired leg, pulling your expensive bag across the walkway.
By the time you reach your desk.
Its already 8.45.
Make your daily coffee, have your breakfast.
On your PC.
By this time, can say to be 9.15
Flipping thru some documents.
And act to start on it.
Smoking break @ 10am.

Return @ 10.30 after some little chats..
When wanna start on it.
Walk around to seek for lunch companions..
By the time back to desk. 11am
So perhaps from 11 to 12.30pm
There is a possibility of work done.
Cos from 12.30 to 1pm..
Its just getting ready for the lunch break.

2pm to return from lunch.
But delay another 15mins or so.
Went up and complain ate too much.
Slack awhile 2.30
30mins of working..
Then another smoking break
3.30 back to work or another round of chat.
Plus a little excuse of tea-break.
By the time it end. 4.30
1 more hr to off work.
You rush to clear, or just put aside to tml.
Clear = big shit as mistake all around.
Wait = Bigger shit as tml there is more shit.

Since there will be shit.
So use the last hour to surf net.
Make phone call to friend.
Arrange dinner gathering..
Whoa.. what an eventful person..

5.30 came.
Team in charge check on result.
And the reply.. Not enough time.
In-charge whack him..
Then tale tat in-charge no helpful.
Claim to have more scope of duties on hand.
So cant finish up.

WAIT...
Its not on putting the blame to whoever..
Base on the little calculation of effort hrs..
It seem that only the most 1hr of effort.
1hr of effort everyday for an 8hr of effort,
Where in this world can people complete his task.

After reading this.
Some may feel that Im writing on them.
Then I can say so sorry and thankful.
Cos at least you know you are the one.
As a friend.
I would hope you will change.
As a nobody.
I would say.. Good Job.

Btw, 10mins allowance for late coming is an estimation that he came on the dot.
What if.....
He reaches at .. say 10am.. please calculate.

Standard Chartered Marathon 2008

7 Dec 2008
Had to wake up very early to prepare for this run.
But still couldnt miss the Man Utd match against Sunderland.
So got to wale up at 1.30am for the match.
When I just sleep like 3 hours ago.

Woke up.. relax and watch the match.
While starting to pack the neccessary items for the run.
The bibs, championship chip, running tee, sunglass and more..
3.30 match ended.
Had a bath and getting prepared to meet danny and haamat.
4.00 left and going over to marina square.
Upon reaching there,
There's already alot of people going over.

4.20 reached marina square.
Got into a nice parking lot.
So took my little breakfast.
Did some stretching and applying some muscle ache cream..
Now all ready to experience the 42km..

5.30 the event start
Before I can get the the starting line.
Due to the huge number of people..
15000 participant for 42km..
The invited guest has already completed 3km.

Reached the 10km mark by 1hr 10min.
Which I'm already at around East Coast Park.
By the time I reach the 11km mark.
The no. 1 was already on the 30km.

2hr 40plus min reached the 21km.
The timing is about 20mins better than what I did for the AHM.
And along the way..
Saw Junxiong and Kelvin Seet (my vietnam trip kakis)
And then Yude (my poly classmate)

Then I took about 1hr 20min more to clear 9more km..
A total of 4hr to do 30km..
By this time..
There is alot of people stretching.
Applying lots of deep heat on their calfs and thighs..

Left the last 12km..
Guess this is the worse part for everyone.
As we are onto the road again.
Facing the not so hot sun for this very moment.
Its already 9.30am..
Got to survive another 1hr or 2hr depend on how you wanna do it.

If you walk base on 100meter per min.
You can complete it at 2hr time.
So there isnt much pressure to do it.
Half run half jog whenever possible will help shorten the timing.
Upon reaching the 35km mark.
My leg start aching and my feet is in pain.
Damn.. never trained so kinda high now.

5km more to go and I'm already over 5hr.
Gonna put some pace into the pain Im getting.
Saw Rohizad (ITE classmate) along beach rd.
Leg feeling jelly now..
4more to go.. still I believe I can do it in 6hr..
Jog, walk, jog, walk..
Now I left with onli 2km more.
So pick up my dying leg and go for it..
Slow jog will bring me in before 6hr mark.

The last 200meter..
This run is coming to an end.
Did my run back slowly.
So not to pull my muscle again.
And I reached.
5hr 50min from my watch.
So plus minus my timing should be around there.

The kinda satisfaction and agony is there..
Completed my very 1st marathon.
Armed with aches and pain all over.
It has indeed one of my memorable achievement.
To see that about 8mths ago.
I would dread on taking my 2.4km (IPPT) every year.
Cos running long distance seem a torture to me.
Yet now I had done 42km..

So this year I had did.
SCM, AHM, Nike-human race and passion run.
42, 21 and 10km.
After 1 day of rest.
My leg didnt ache as much.
Perhaps next year if Im taking part.
Shall do more training.
To do a better timing below 5hr30min for 42km
2hr30min for 21km and
1hr for 10km.

Or to say..
Talk is very easy thing to do.
You can say participate this, join that.
In the end when you never do it.
Means you never experience before.
Or to say..
Its just plain talking..

The Last Month Of The Year

The last 30/31 days of 2008.
This year seem kinda fast pace for everyone.
For a sudden 2008 will come to an end.
The good thing for this year is some of the nice memories..
So shall recall some of them here.
Just in case my hard disk(brain) were to fail me next time.

So what have I achieve.
1. Completed my degree.. from Hons to no Hons.. (kinda sad, but no choice)
2. The target set for new shop.. (to breakeven by 1 year of opening)

Some of the memorable activities..
1. Bkk trip with JJ, Oyy, Danny and Dex..
2. Brother gang for Jacky and ann chee wedding..
3. 21st Intake RMIT-BCM gathering @ Changi chalet..
4. 16BB night cycling..

Some activities I had done..
1. Bintan cycling..
2. Desaru cycling..
3. AHM, Nike human race, Passion run and upcoming SCM..
4. More involvement in VSC..
5. Night cycling every Sat Night.
6. DOTA..
7. Weilik house warming..
8. My reservist..
9. Still got plenty but cant remember much..

And the important thing is..
Shifted house to Upp Boon Keng.
So much nearer to the new shop.
Which I guess some still might not know about it.
Just had another bike up..
Still no project on hand..

Now my shop also got Soul Frame available.
So do come down and take a look at this very nice Alu frame.
Available in 3 different colours.
And the cost is cheap
Weight wise is around 1.3kg
It comes with a carbon fork.

Simple to say.
$2k.
You can build this up with 105 groupset.
Mavic Aksium
EA 50 bar, stem and post and bartape
Prolite seat

So can say to be very cheap around.
Dun hesitate.

Now we are turning back again.
Well thats economy.
With all its Ups and dowN.
Just hope that this recession isnt too bad for us to bear.

So its a bad news for my studies.
About to finish.

Well the hype on F1 in Singapore is over.
So we shall look towards 2009 for a better prepared circuit in Sg.
As the F1 ends..
My reservist ICT also about to end for this FY2008.
This recall for F1 was specially arranged since May.
When I was due to report on 16 Sept.
Then I saw a few more friends being recalled together.
And all I can say is..
This call up.. Super relax.
Cos everyone just posted back to their former post.
Doing what they did during their NS times..
So looking forward to Grand Prix 2009.

Into the final month of studies..
Exams at month end.
FYP to be submitted 19th Nov.
Then still got the Sabah cycling trip coming up.
With the recee trip too..
Together with Real run.
Training for Standard Chartered Marathon 42km..
Saturday Nite cycling.
My VSC..
Whole load of a program..

Shocking news..
Minyi getting married liao..
So fast tied knot le..
Then can have a class gathering in the restaurant..

Now...
Got to start rushing for my FYP..
And perhaps start my revision soon.

Its September

Without knowing..
Half of september has went pass.
So what had I did in the first half of sept.

Well..
1. Night cycling for Seng Bee or some say Sims Drive group
Has started again.
But now the location shall be at Upper Boon Keng.
And the meeting time will be 2030hrs.
Leisure cycling to any parts of Singapore.

2. School has ended for me.
Assignments, Exams and FYP to clear.
Hopefully the slump dun come too fast.
So I can still enjoy the peak of construction.

3. 8th Sept to 12 Sept.
Help out in the Asia Detours cycling trip.
2 days local and the other 3 at Bintan.
Leading a group of 19 students with another 2 friends.

1st day.
Basic cycling at east coast park.
Lane discipline and some technical knowledge.
End with Subway lunch.

2nd day.
Off road riding at Tampines trail.
Well for me..
Im using my old tank..
My beloved GT LTS 4.
After the trail.
We use the Park Connector back to East Coast.
Once again the day ended easily.

3rd day.
Off to Bintan.
Logistic and Admin work.
Reach there ard noon time.
Its just an hr ferry over.
Check in at Bintan Lodge.
Took lunch.
And all prepared for the trails there.
Wash up and ready for dinner.
At Pasar Oleh Oleh.
Well plenty of RnR time there..

4th day.
0830hr wake up but its Bintan 0730.
Had breakfast
Then start the trail again.
But be reminded.
Before any trails.
We need to cycle some distance.
Did 1 trail and we reach the kelong.
Relax for awhile and the lunch is here.
Then which we proceed to mana mana.
For some beach activities.
Dinner again at Oleh Oleh.
And the day ended again.

Last day.
Breakfast.
Then a short trail again.
More for exploration for those garang ones.
Managed to find 1 nice trail.
But my bike break down when coming out.
Wash up.
Lunch and we are on the way back.
Ferry delay.
Quite a rush when we reach Sg.
Cos the bus driver simply couldnt wait.
Keep rushing the kids up the bus.
When all logistics are not done yet.
Luckily still got Danny to help send my bike back to UBK.
Well this trip has ended.

So awaiting for the next one.
Which are likely to be at Sabah... Woah...

4. After the Bintan trip.
Sat Night cycling..
10 riders for the night.
Initial plan was to cycle to Jalan Kayu for prata.
The relax at Yishun dam.
But...
It became a long ride.
We carry on from Yishun dam.
Went to mandai.
Then Neo Tiew.
Lim Chu Kang
And rest at Shell station located at Boon Lay.

We carry on to Jalan Buroh.
West coast highway.
South Bouna Vista...
Thru Holland rd.
Orchard then Newton.
Then to Serangoon road.
And have prata there.

Total distance travelled: 90km+-
Riders: Johnson, Hamat, EK, Jerome, Dean and friend,
Melvin, Dexing, Richard and me.

15days went pass.
With the celebration of mooncake festival.
Now await for the next half.

The past few event...

22nd August.
Cycling with ex 16BB members.
Namely.
Bee Chong, Chee Hua, Junjie, Weili, Dexing, Wee Hock (Chee Hua's friend) and Me.
Meet up at 2330hrs.
Start off at Midnight.
Ride from Upper Boon Keng to Changi via ECP.
Very 1st time which we can do cycling together.
Hoping for more of this ad hoc cycling.

24th August
Run 21km in the AHM..
Really can die.
Cos never train up towards the event.
Guess that 42km.. got to train more consistently.

29th August
My little sis has graduated.
First square hat.

Awaiting for next Aug to come soon....

30th August
This marks the end of my semester or studies in SIM.
As the rest of the weeks will be assignments n more assignments.
Got a little class gathering
Too bad only 18 of us turn up.
Parris International Buffet.
Nice food.. at least much better than sakura.

31st August
Nike Human race.
10km. short run.
But not very nice to run.
Again lots of people.
Which causes alot of points where people got to walk.
Not very good..

Went for family shoot at UE square-picture me
Awaiting for the end results to come out.

Lots of event coming up..

AHM and the Nike Human Race.
Never knew I will be so crazy to take part in both events..
Which falls on 24th and 31st Aug.
21km and 10km for the above events.
And which I had not been running for 3 weeks.
Hopefully can struggle through the 21km.

Saturday Nite coming is back again for Seng Bee Bicycle Shop.
The super leisure cycling for everyone.
Mountain bikes and racing bikes are all welcome.
Meeting time 8.30pm
Location: Blk 5 Upper Boon Keng Rd.

Other than all these little events..
For me..
Personnally stuck with assignments and assignments.
Dateline coming soon.
But just needing to hold on for the most 3 months.
And it shall be all over.

Colnago CLX

Well.. this is the targetted 3rd bike which I would like to have
Price tag.. yet to know
But it will be at least 5k.
So got to wait for a little longer.
Save up some more cash 1st and let it be out when I can.. hahaa

This shall be colour of the frame Im getting.
Component wise.. Ultegra SL should be enough.
Mavic wheelset anything better than Akusim can liao.
Rest of the parts.. matching enough.
Of cos to be in carbon.

YEah..
Finally after 8 weeks of course on every tue and fri.
Dun need to go all the way to Old PA..
But shall resume normal uniform duty again.

Dunno what to write on a dunno title.
Basically this blog has been created for updates on myself.
But it seem now that I had nothing much to pen down here.
Perhaps, my life has went abit more rigid.
With only work, studies, vsc, cycling and jogging.
Perhaps its just the spark that has been always missing in my life.
So I guess its time for me to do something right.

Work
Still very much the same.
Just that new shop has very well being settle down.
Thus gonna stock more quality stuffs.
Otherwise theres always a need to replenish it every week.
Well..
Getting more interested into cycling and bicycles..
Should I have a third bike - Colnago CLX..
Or sell off my Element to make way for CLX.

Studies
More assignment plus Research Paper..
Last semester liao still got so much headache.
But lucky me..
Its last sem liao.

Well.. duties will come soon..
As now still doing my IDC.
With 2 more friends coming into VSC family.
It will be more fun to participate in more duties.

Cycling
Rundown for Ironman for my friend on 27th July
But will only do cycling and jogging together.
Desaru trip on 3rd Aug
So need more training for anyone who wanna come along.
Junjie has sold his XTC team and soon changing to racing bike.
Thats why Im thinking of getting the Colnago CLX.
As the theory is simple.
No matter how fast u can go on a MTB.
Or how good your stamina can be.
A racing bike is totally different.
Hitting 35km/h in MTB open mouth big liao.
So how to get 45 or more in a racing bike.
I mean constant speed.
So individual training has to come in place.
And of cos discipline.
Which was to keep our body healthly too.
And most of all..
Anyone of you can just join us.
Any kinda of bike.
If you wanna cycle..

Now seldom has the time or say feel to pen down something.
Nothing interesting has happen to my life.
These are something which has recently happen.

1. Shifted over to the new HDB flat behind new shop.
2. Housewarming
3. Rented out condo.
4. Sold away the van.
5. Did my 1st 10km run.
6. Got 2 friends joining me in the VSC.

8. Start the last semester of my UNI life.

Meanwhile still nothing much in my life yet.
Just started jogging and cycling regularly.
Going over to desaru to cycle on 3rd August, anyone are welcome to join.
Will be taking part in the AHM and the Nike+Human race.
My friends and I are planning a mini run out for Ironman on 27th July for ourselves.
So what other events to look forward to.

As time passes..
Memories dimishes..
The past has gone.
With nothing to kept,
All the good and sad times.
Will be down right into drain.

As the theory goes.
If one cant be bothered.
So why does one bother.

Bangkok Trip Again

Once again in 17th May to 21st May.

I was in Bangkok.
Just nice, 1 year ago I was there.
But this time round with different grp of people.
So what had I done in this trip...

17th May
0700hrs meet at kallang station but dex late ..
0725hrs meet danny at aljunied station
0800hrs to meet jj n grace but they are late.
0855hrs check in
then had our breakfast at Burger King.
1055hrs flies off to BKK.
-one thing for sure, airasia free sitting = no gd.
reached bkk and we went straight to the hotel - Baiyoke suite.
checked in and off for lunch..
A&W located at the IT centre.
Brief introduction to Platinium Fashion mall
Then went over to central world.
Had a light dinner.
Did some shopping at Big C.
And we proceed to RCA for go-karting.
Well..
We had the whole circuit to ourselves.
160cc then 270cc...
The power is totally different.
After this 2 races.
JJ need to take a rest liaoz..
Too much G-force.
So still left with credit unused.
Went back hotel.
As usual to the 7-11 for the Ham and Cheese bread.

18th May
Hotel breakfast.
Then off to the weekend market.
Luckily the weather is quite good.
As it rains, so the shopping there can last longer.
Whatever shop for shall not elaborate here.
Left the weekend market for massage near hotel.
Had a buffet dinner.
But the night program only left
Danny, Dex and me for a tour round 1 of the night market.

19th May
The Chinatown day
As its the Vesak day.
So went over to the Grand Palace to pray.
After which proceed over to worachat for bicycle stuffs.
Stop over at old siam for lunch.
Very cheap but very nice food.
Espcially the mango rice for only SGD$2.00
This time round finally found bicycle stuffs.
Then we proceed over for Shark Fin..
Power.....
It just worth the money we spent on it.
Proceed over to patpong for my knock out.
So call Bday celebration..
1/2hr gone liaoz..

20th...
My Birthday..
What had we done for the day...
As usual, we drop off grace to shop at central.
While we proceed to look for bicycle stuffs.
Probike, not too far away.
But all stuffs are not what we are looking for.
So we proceed over to Siam bike.
Which is quite near to RCA.
Over there got quite a few stuffs.
Copied Chris King headset, grips and jersey.
Well.. consider cheap..
Then then. went back to central to look for grace.
Rest awhile and off we went to RCA again.

For the final race at BKK..
Danny in the first car followed by JJ, grace, dex then me.
10mins to see who can clock the fastest lap and most lap.
Just within seconds,
Danny and JJ are bursting away.
Leaving grace blocking dex and me..
No way thru, but just in the 3rd or 4th turn,
I managed to squeeze pass both.
But grace just rammed straight onto my side and causing me to spin off.
So got to wait for assistance for the controller.
In there looses 20plus mins.
Too bad, got to play more catching up..
Source from JJ says,
After he managed to overtake danny..
He gave danny a stun of his life.
Applying e-brake in such a top speed.
Yellow flag was up for us to slowing down,
As grace crashed into the barrier..
Dex too..
His go-kart got into problem too..
This race has became a bumper car race.
Hitting here and there.
Race ended.
Best lap: me.
Most lap: JJ and danny

One more credit left for me..
So went on to clock some personal best.
Hmm this time timing had become better.
Without any blockage.
All depends on oneself.
At least this time round,
Managed to clock a few laps below 30sec.
Shiok..

After the race,
Proceed for dinner
Went over to central for dinner @ Yum Saap.
Movie at central.. well ticket cost below $4.00
Nice seat and big leg space.
Movie: Never give up.
After which proceed back to hotel.
And get my Ham & cheese again.
Woooh... just enjoy the cheese melting..
Had beers and off to sleep.

21st May.
Last day.
Skip breakfast except dex.
Shop at MBK
And had a very good lunch there.
Bought back some local snacks.
And we proceed over to platinum mall.
Bur stopped over at Hardrock cafe..
Cos I wanted to get something.
Dun need to guess..
Just a small bear.
And also rest for a drink there.
Finally got to go Hardrock cafe after so many BKK trips.
Shopped a few more t-shirt
And went over to the IT mall to get a thumbdrive.
Cheap cheap..
Somemore Sg no more selling this brand.

Left for airport with all about to be penniless or bahtless.
Chip in all we have.
But cant get any decent meal at the airport.
So JJ got to sign card liao.
Dunno why base money so fast finish liaoz.

Well flight delay.
And that end the BKK trip..
But likely to be going there again..
For more go-karting and more bicycle stuffs.

Way into April

Been a long time since I last blog.
Wonder what had been happening.
Heard some,
Know some,
Feel some.
For no *@#&ing reasons,
Kena for nothing.

I dunno what has actually happen.
But for no reasons..
My grp mate and me are linked together again.
Or say, this link was always there.
All I can say,
This grp mate is a very good friend of mine.
Out together for coffee, movie.
I dun think its something wrong.
Furthermore its always so easy to share my feeling/though with this mate.
So please,
I know whatever we shared.
We had never, ever leak out each other stuffs.

All this while,
Every sunday morning was to cycle and cycle.
Now becoming,
Another weekday morning to cycle before work.
5.30am already on the road.
Some might be thinking crazy is it.
Worse still,
Another day of GYM session.
Jogging, weight lifting.

Tried road bike for a few weeks,
Well, its very different.
Adjustment of riding style has to be made.
Speed is the thing we are aiming for.
After which the road bike is sold.
So now back to my Element.
Situation now also changes for junjie.
He is having the thought of switching to road bike.
Speed....
Mountain bike on slicks cant go up too fast.
So people who want speed will change.
Thats what I feel.
Furthermore,
Now market situation changes so much.
More girls are onto the cycling scene.
As quite alot are WAG of some cyclists.
25th May is another runway cycling.
Wonder if all those dirt and dusted bikes will be out.

Another BKK trip on May this year.
But this time with my grp of cycling kakis.

Come June,
Might have another Bintan cycling trip.

Exams coming..
Assignment finishing.
Semester 5 coming..

Very fast..
We are into the 3rd month of 2008.
Basically nothing much this year as yet.
Just that after Chinese New Year period.
Got the chance to exercise more.
Been cycling much more also.
From mountain bike to now road bike.
Very different type of experience.

My group of friends are still building up.
Hopefully with a little more seriousness.
We will be of some standards out there.

Other than cycling.
Was just classes after classes.
If not assignments and assignments.
Plenty of them this semester.

Work life is also like cycling..
Coming more and more..
So my rest time will be from 17th May to 20th May.
Bangkok trip once again.
Cheapest place to shop and relax.

Love life = 0
Yes once again still mark as zero..
So nothing to say over here.

When will I be back to my ex company..
Well all got to depends on situation..
So my ex bosses and perhaps going to be bosses.
Sorry for not able to give you the exact time.

National service life will get tougher.
Being a PNSmen in Central Division.
When nearly all major events are there.
Plus the upcoming..
F1 race, Youth Olympic, IR..
So get prepare to call up to the max...
Yea.. recently just got my Good Service Medal.
So still not too bad..
At least I know I ORD for 5 years le.. haa
Time flies indeed.

My VSC life.
Clocking more hours now.
Since the allowance had gone up.
Clock more means more to spend.
Or say more to save.

Now will be doing on my new blog.
Will be doing it up to sell off some stuffs.
From new to old.

Learn, Learning and Learnt

After going through working life for ard 22mths.
Since 3rd April 2006 to today 19 Feb 2008.
Working as a AQS in Davis Langdon and Seah.
To working as a mechanic for my father bicycleshop.
Which to some might say.. just another ASK..
Cos I believe out there in this world.
There are just too many 'red-eyed' or say jealous people ard.
They just couldnt stand that you are just that 1mm better than them.
Well, couldnt care much.
But I do believe that such person are just failure in their life.
If you do think working as mechanic is that easy.
Please do come ahead and try it.

Anyway Im still learning to control my temper.
Which seem to be ever increasing at such a fast rate.
And I never knew I can do it so well tat time.

Learn that something, some matters or whatever.
Is not worth any memory space in my hardisk.

Learnt that 1 shall not be a busybody.
Why bother when someone might just play your A**
Not worth at all..

Learnt that 1 shouldnt be too good to someone pretty.
Which will lead to rumours and more rumours.
So ...

Learnt that 1 shouldnt be too helpful.
Never ever seek ways to help people.
When in the end it seems that you owe them.

Learnt that 1 shouldnt listen to rumours too much.
Cos it might just spoil your own market.
Just believe and feel it yourself.

Learnt that 1 should keep his promise.
For the promise made for not driving more than 90km/h
Faithfully observing the promise.

Learnt that 1 shouldnt lie.
For a lie can bring 2 apart.
But I knew I never lie.

Learnt that 1 should constantly upgrade.
So what if I will be having a degree this year.
When people out there are having PHD and master.

Learnt that 1 will be appreciated.
If you are good.
People will know.

Learnt that making more money is enjoyable.
Nothing beat materials with more cash in hand.
And worthy assets laying ard.

Learnt that 1 having some true friends.
For them it bring beliefs into oneself.
Whats true, what false.
They got eyes to see.
Heart to feel.
And not ears for rubbish they heard.

Learnt that 1 got too much of something isnt good.
For too much of it.
People cant stand it.

Learnt that 1 should had spend more times with others.
Too many groups of friends.
Why just stick to 1.
And misses out so many.
When in the end its just crap.

Learnt that 1 having a good life.
Its not blessed.
Its on working towards it.
Not as individual but as a family.
Thats how the 2nd shop came into picture.

Learn that Im shifting house le..
Not that my dad is selling off his condo.
Just that we are getting a new place.
This condo is the hardwork of last 14years.
When he took over the reign from my grandfather.

Learnt all this precious teaching during the 22mths.
So much to see.
So much to be happy.

2008 had came a few hours ago.
So may 2008 be a better year for everyone.
2007 had now passed.
Whatever yet to achieved.
Hopefully it can be done by this year.
Never to bring it forward to 2009.

For over 10 over years.
My celebration had always be the same.
Just that this very celebration.
Had been kinda different.
Does my countdown with another group of friends.
Very different indeed.

What had I wished for 2008.
Was all recorded in dolly's camera.
1. Sell more bicycles.
2. Complete my degree.
3. Earn more money...

1st 10mins was at Marina Sq watching fireworks.
Then spend about 40mins walking to get car..
Another 1.5hrs driving...

Just this simple event to cover my day.
And what a day.
Twice I saw friends,
But never did I went up to say HI...
One was with friends chatting..
The other busy putting up magazines..

Saw at the computer fair.
At the moment of time..

My 486 processor beginning to fail..
Formatted too much stuffs ard.
Thats why never shout for her..

While strolling around aimlessly to pass time..
Thus decided to get some mags..
Went into the bookshop..
Saw this back view been so familiar..

Decided not to get any mags..
And left the area with a few more glance.

Cos I simply cant focus well.

Completed my Semester 3 at SIM-RMIT
Courted 1 girl but fail badly.
Cycle nearly every sat whenever possible.
Computed system upgrade.
Car accident happen.
Cash flow not as strong.

Looking forward for a new year.
A new place to stay.
A new luck to come in place.
Am I that luckless in that area??
Or Im just not that good.

Well...
Will be cycling for the upcoming week.
Nearly everyday possible.
As the event start from monday 19/11/2007.

For a start,
It shall be a trip to Pulau Ubin.
Which I cant make it there.
So Junjie is there to replace me.

Day 2,
Tampines Trail.
Off-road...

Day 3 to 5,
Bintan cycling.
Another 3 days of R&R

Then back to Singapore...
And nite cycling for Saturday.

Is my new bicycle set up done yet??
Its now another mean machine I have.
Some might be wondering..
How come Ben(me) will choose white colour now.
Isnt him a all black guy.
Whatever things, black will go with him.
WTH he chooses white this time round?

Black isnt a colour.
But white is..
White is a colour of all colours

Bintan Cycling Trip

Meet Andy and Shaun @ 0645hrs and proceed to ECP in wet weather.
So long never wake up so early.
Kinda forced myself up @ 0615hrs
Rain was getting heavier and we managed to reach ECP mac at 0715hrs
Meet up with another recee team up and off we go to Tanah Merah FT.
After reaching there,
Then was informed that another 3 team mates will be late.
So we were like kinda oh sianz...
Got to wait liaoz..
Boat tics to push back to 1105hrs .
Had a nice hot milo in Killiney.
And off we go to Bintam.
Worse part was..
We got to part our dear bicycle..
Got to check in our bicycles.. Sianz lor
No choice, still got to go on..
Due to the exhaustion from watching yesternite F1 race.
I was soon found sleeping.

(Upon boarding the ferry)

Well good rest come to an end fast.
Check out our bags and bicyles.
Perpare ourselves and all ready to rumble..
A short distance to our destination at Bintan Lodge.
So did not require any serious cycling yet.

Check in..
So took a pic of my bike before it get dirty..

Had an early lunch and off we go..

Tireness began to creep in..

After seeing hills after hills..

Lots of climbs got to make..

Went in quite a few trails n the best part was..

I was on slick tyres..

Worse still no suspension fork to handle the tough terrain.

Guess that im the most garang guy liao..

Just whack the trails..

Of cos at a much slower pace than anyone of them.

After getting thru a muddy terrain.

Fun..

After much cycling.

We stop at last light.

Get wash up and dinner at pasar oleh oleh.

Nice food there.

Shop for some tibits n drinks.

And back to resort for rest.

Instead of resting...

We were still busy chatting on bicycles..

Breakfast and so some research.

Check out and proceed to another location.

Nirwana Beach Club.

Woah nice beach..

Beach volleyball and beach soccer can be played there.

Very good place to slack there.

Had a very good dinner..

Buffet dinner..

Relax back in resort and fall asleep fast.

Got to wake up very early.

Cos got to board the ferry @ 0930hrs (bintan time)

Easier time this round.

Cos they sending us over on bus.. hee..

Check in our bicycles again..

Hoping they will not just dump our bikes..

70km cycling in bintan for on and off road.

It has been a long time since I last posted here.
Well I had completed my reservist.
Pass my Ippt
But all these seem like nothing..
Life indeed get boring..
It seem that there isnt much things to do in SG.
Thinking of going overseas.
Maybe just go there play for a few days.
To get more inspiration
Or just to relax for awhile..
Rest my mind and see what I really want.

Well there has been quite a few things going on..
Some knew it, some dont.
Indeed saddness still fill me.

Powerful for both car.
But lancer will be a much better choice.
Larger leg space as compare to swift.
All necessary accessories are all in Lancer.
Try it if you got the chance.

Well, through friendster I managed to find this friend of mine.
My Sec 3 classmate in 1995.
Lost the contacts with the rest of them when I got repeated in sec 3.
Luckily she still remember who I am.
Otherwise it will be like so funny.
Asking her to add me in her friendster.

Finally got to catch up with her for awhile during lunch. 16/3
Still look very the same.
Indeed very friendly and approachable.
Cos last time seldom talk to her.

On what basis then its counted?
Is there any output needed?
Or any actions to be done?
How to justify if its worth doing?
Is it worth sacrificing for others?
It will come to an end if there is any result.

If you feel what you done isnt appreciated by some other.
I guess its more or less better stop doing.
No point getting oneself hurt on the process.
Why not getting your focus on some other.
At least there will be response.
Rather than waiting..
Only finding you when theres no one around.
Which means you are the one in the boot.. :-
SPARE TYRE.

On work how to know if your work is appreciated?
Through promotions?
Increment?
Responsibilities?
Or recongition?
If all are in, then the effort you placed in your job are worthwhile.

On the above 2 examples are the daily routine life.
Where appreciation expected are likely to be seen more easily.
If there is no end results to any.
Then why for getting so much done.
For the former, if you were to do too much.
You will be likely becoming a pest.
If there is no response every chance you makes the approach.
It will be better to stop it immediately.

For the latter,
If you are not rewarded in the 1st year.
Work harder the next one.
Discipline yourself.
Show positive attitude.
Show progress in your work.
I believe you will be duly rewarded.

Very soon the 3rd year student will complete their course in SP.
The graduating students to be the newbie in DLS.
Bless that you had made the right choice.
I guess this might be the only place where you get to hands on so much.
Different aspect of work, different area of field.
What we learn in SP will bring you some where there.
Adv measurement, Contract Administration, Estimating will be the core.
If you chose M&E then building services will come to place.
Anyway you are the only one specially trained.
No more other diploma like business can do work.
We are someone special, someone in demand.
No matter what construction line will not collapse.
Cause every businesses out there.
They will need a building.
As quoted by Mr Yeo,
"No matter how big the industry is,
They will still need us to house them"

Morever construction line is growing..
New buildings coming up.
Old ones under renovation or say A&A works.
All are in a cycle so never worry.
Plenty of jobs out there for everyone to grab.

But coming here would likely to be the best choice.
DLS can say to be a centre for knowledge.
Thats why its a very good stepping stone for everyone.
Come here, get the experience needed.
Will be nearly twice faster than other place.
Not to compare with small time contractor firm.
Where you got to handle nearly everything.

A career in DLS??
That will depend what path your boss puts you in.
Red carpet, good luck for you..
Otherwise you might take a longer route to get up there.

There shouldnt be too much of a problem then.

As it shall be petrol for your car.

Ride bicycle to work.
If your work place is near.
But good bicycle aint cheap too.
Easily a thousand
Cheap bicycle = more maintenance = more money spend = expensive bike.
So no point getting cheap bike
Where performance are not tat good.
So getting an above average bike.
Solves lots of problems.

But I still would like to have a car.
I would like to have a fast, power car.
Evo, Rex, RX8, Interga, Fairlady or even
Fit 1.5 Vtec, Swift sports, Colt turbo..
That will be something Im looking for.

We are well into the 2nd week of Feb.
So many things coming up.
Chinese New Year (CNY) ,
Assignment due date..
And not forgetting Valentines' Day.
All seem to be the days of nothing.

Cant celebrate CNY for this year...
Because of what had happen recently.
So any activities during the 3 days.
Can just call me out.

Assignment..
I think everyone will feel the same.
Got to rush thru the report.
Meet group mates and the compliation.
Gosh...

Valentines' Day...
Likely to be another friendship day for me.
No one available for me to ask her out..
So once again the front seat will be empty.

VSC hours.
Got to clock something this month.
Never clock any last month.

PNS shooting..
Free bullets or say free game.
Selection for A Div PNS team.
Going for 1st practice on 8th & 22nd Feb.
Got to know that there is a shooting club in Sg.
So next time there will be additional activities.

Other than these few things,
There isnt much to look forward to.
Running out of ideas.
Running out of time.
Running out of so many thing.
Perhaps I should get myself warming up.
Tired = Not thinking = Not useful = Nothing

This month will pack with more OTs
So to push up my monthly CPF contribution.
And with more cash in hand.
I guess it will always be much better.
Anyway CNY coming..
So money will be coming in..
But still got to clear some little debts.
In order to be debt free for next year.
Wondered if its true..

FD matures thus another sum of money coming in.

27th Jan 2007 marks the day when my friend becomes a man.
He is happily married with his wife, Miss Mavis Tan.
In which now she would be call as Mrs Edward Lin.
Before the actual day came.
Last min preparation was the final touch up.

Xiongdi report to camp on 26th.
But not all turn up the same time.
So abit of waiting before we start to wash our car.
Fun stuffs..
All helping out to help it done asap.
In order to have supper later.

Then got to receive the news that Kel got to wait for the florist.
Living Horizon, the name of the florist we got to know later.
Might as well condemn this inexperience, unethical way of doing business.
They are late for an hour or so.
Did up the 1st design and got rejected.
And got to redo everything including the hand flower.
All we can say is that an amatuer can do better than them.
No photos to show.
But from a guy point of view you should be able to imagine.
When guys can complain on it, whats more for the girl.
Its simply disgusting.
Wrong combi, untidy work or simply name it as rubbish.
It nearly spoils the day.
Thus Kel got to wait for them to get everything done up on early morning.

All went to sleep after our supper.
Getting only a short rest at around 0330hrs.
And waking up at 0530hrs.
One after the other got ourself wash up and getting ready.
0700hrs, 1st call...
Delay for 30mins..
So went for breakfast at Ubi.
Reached at 0730..
Then at ard 0800 call them and again another delay.
Finally getting started at 0830.
All the games came in.
The Jie meis think they are clever..
But too bad, they met us..
The whole thing was delay due to the games we got to do.
0930 then we managed to get in.
Luckily for all travelling time a buffer was given.
So we still managed to reach church at the planned time.
1230 standing by in church.

At around 1310hrs.
The stupid florist reverse and bang into my car.
Giving all sorts of excues.
Lousy product still want collect the balance of the money fast.
Work haven done finish also.
All we can say.

Totally, utterly cannot make it.

Everything ended in the church at around 1730hrs
Packing up and some debriefing..
So all started to proceed over to Ed's place.
Upon reaching his place,
Everyone washes up and some dozing off..
Pizza for dinner..
Dunno which company.
But the pizza taste good.
So after finishing the Pirates of Carribean 2
Watched Sg v Malaysia till the penalty shooutout.
Yes, Singapore had won the match.
They will be facing Thailand to defend their title.

After the match everyone start to proceed home.
Drop off one friend and back home for Man Utd match.
Boring 1st half, so many wrong decisions.
Luckily Man Utd scrap thru.
Knock out after that and slept thru...
So its Sunday again..

Everyday there will be lots of things happening.
Be it on you or around you.
So many conicidence things happen.
Or perhaps some had been pre-determined.
This makes up the real interesting part of life.

Some times you really cant wonder what they are trying to do.
Or what they trying to hide or even to show.
When you observed from a certain angle.
Some party are just trying to get 'time' on.
'Time' of being together for some occasion.
Wondered if its one-sided affair or willingness from both.

So many little tiny things that one party tried to do.
Was ever so revealling.
Thats why I had came up with the 'Yin Guo Shun Huan'
The Evil shall get his pay back.
Indeed this thing came true.
While I was still sipping my WCD at coffee bean.

Ever so enthu for so many kind of activities.
Come on.. No one is blind..
We can see, hear, think or even feel..
Too much of activities, ACT to be recorded here.
Thus will not elaborate too much.

Yeah got my blazer from domanchi.
Indeed it was much fitting than I last tried out then.
As I had been faithfully doing my runs..
On the threadmill though.
Waistline seem much better now.
Will be constantly doing it till friday.
Before Ed's wedding.

This month is ending soon so payday drawing near.
Hopefully can get a hefty sum to go thru CNY.
Another time to clear off some debts owed for the past year.

My bills which I delay my payment.

It has been days since I last blog.
Kinda running out of topic to do so.
Indeed life isn’t much the same again.
After starting my semester 2 in SIM.
Work in the morning & study at nite.
Time has indeed not enough for me.
So the only time to jog was after my class.
11pm still in the gym sweating out.
At least better then slacking at home,
Munching away the tibits.

After posting on marriage preparation.
Then came to realise that preparation are not enough.
You will need really plenty of patience with each other.
Spending the time quarrelling for the history done.
Why not doing some quality stuffs.
Sometimes something just cannot be rushed.
In order to co-ordinate 2 on-going projects.
The workload got to be shared by the 2.
Otherwise one party would be half dead before the day came.
2 Projects namely: Renovation for home and Wedding Planning.

Finally had my haircut (17/1).
At least I look tidier now.
So many people had asked why never cut your hair?
My reply is, 49days.
And it ends the untidy hairstyle.

When to resign came out again.
Today boss asked..
So can only reply cannot cfm yet.
Wheras the whole team is just waiting for the increment.
Bet that everyone is on the same line.
Increment no good.. bye,bye n off we go.

Life in DLS indeed still isnt that bad.
Just the kinda workload that the M&E are having.
Each QS handling 1o or more projects.
AQS helping out at around 5 or more.
Day by day more files piling up.
Clear project A, project B, C D piles up..
So non urgent case place one side 1st.
But still there is more n more things too.

Indeed marriage isnt a very simple event to plan for.
If you want the basic to be in.
Too many things to be done.
Thus the work got to be shared by the couple.
Best still write down a checklist and who to take action for it.

Or lets pick out some of the important stuffs for a traditional wedding
1. Attire
The bride and the groom got to pick out their best suit for the day.
And how many sets will the bride wear - 3 to 5
The handling over, tea reception, dinner.
And of cos the groom can do some changes if budget permits

2. Bestman/Buddies aka xiongdi
Deciding on who will be the one helping you to stand out.
And the group of buddies to help you in hand for all minor stuffs.
Co-ordinate the dress code - the colour theme.

3. Car
Need a nice car to convey from one location to another.
Look for car rental or rent a nice posh car from the lobangs around
Est: 250/day

4.1 Date
Of cos the date of your wedding/ROM got to be set.
Then you will know when you got to set up everything.
When will be the latest date for everything to be done.

4.2 Dinner
From choosing a restaurant to hotel.
A very big difference in the budget.
Class or quality??
Ranges from 5oo to 1.3K per table
And how many tables to be there??
Ranges from 20 tables to 100 tables.

5. Engagement Ring.
This will cost a bomb to the guys.
Need this to propose to the girl you like.
Too much details on rings to be explained.
Min roughly 1.2K

6.1 Flat
If you are going to have a place for your own.
Then look for a flat around your budget.
The location and the sizes does matters.
Different type of option available.
1. New flat - dun need reno much
2. Old flat - good cond, just need do something.
3. Old flat - spend huge some for makeover.
For the old flat- plus point is its larger in size.
But older in years.
Est: 300K (HDB) or 500K (condo)

6.2 Florist
Another specialist you got to find to do up some deco.
Or will the hotel bear the cost for you.
However there are still some flowers that need to get.

Dunno if its to be classified over here.

The wedding biscuit for the relatives.

Way before the wedding day.
A huge sum of money will be use.
So both parties had a part to play in all expenses.
From Flat to toilet paper.

Locally or Overseas.

This got to be set nearly 6 mths before the wedding date.

Before the traditional wedding came into place.
In Singapore Law, you had to register to be husband n wife.
Cheap to register but will be expensive to deregister(divorce)
So better think properly before committing your signature to it.
Est: Cheap, depend on how you going to do it.

13.2 Renovation to your home
Another few Grands to be spend over here.
If you want to make it look presentable.
Engaging ID or just directly to contractor.
Or the best way - DIY.
It will all depend on wat you are doing and the quality of the materials.

14. Savings
Way before the plan to get married.
Both had to start saving up along the way.
Eg. Both party to work for 3 years. A pay of 2K each.
Est: 700 in to OA CPF acc. -25K will be in the acc.
400 of savings. -14K will be saved.
With only this figure.
Nothing much can be done.
So save young and standby for it.

15. Wedding Band
The rings for both parties.
Est: 800 to 2K

Hmmmmmm.......
Any more things that need to be done and clear before the day arrived.
Along the way what should take note of.
What would be the additional things to do.
Shopping for home accessories,
Going for SPAs, more into relax mode.
However this should come hand in hand with the rest of the things
Set a target and get it done asap.
Know what you want and how you want it to be done.
So you will not be wasting another day for the same item.
Controlling of budget so it will not get burst.
Dun buy the stuffs and regret later.
Get only the useful ones 1st... thats the piority to make your house.

The 1st week of 2007 will be over very soon.
Thus those who had yet to pen down any aims.
Do it fast.
Writing down what you wish to achieve.
Will at least set you moving.
To the direction you want.
Well big goals are hard to set.
Then why not writing down small achievable ones.

1. Work Life
What is the thing you want to achieve in this year.
Are you working hard enough for 2006.
Do you want a promotion to a higher level,
An increment or changing of job.

2. Physical Health
Have you been exercising regularly?
Are you in poor health?
Then better start exercising.
Do a checkup if its necessary

3. Financial Health
Meaning your money matters
Have you been overspending?
Try to cut it down.

4. Knowledge
Reading up any books lately?
Enrol into any courses
Then find something - course or lesson
Which will enrich you knowledge

5. Family
Have you been spending quality time with them.
The most important group of people around you.
No matter what happens they will be with you.
What I mean is your parents, siblings.
Partners- dun really think so as they might leave you.
When you are down and out.

6. Social
The correct mixture of friendship into your life.
There will be helps coming along when needed.
So have you been mixing with the correct group.
Which ever you mix more with.
Will at times turn you more towards them.
Your behaviour and thinkings.

Anyway what stated above are those things you would have done for years.
Just that there should be some plans in your life.
On the direction you should be heading to.
Easier said than done.
Thats why you got to plan.
Write down what you really want for your life.
What do you see yourself in the next few years.
Or where would you be in 10 years later.

Anyway those who know me..
My life will be changing soon..
No more long sleeve shirt in Air-con room.
But at new bicycle shop sweating out.

And the renovation which will come later.

Not too bad for me.

Now also got a few more good books to read on.
Plus I might need a few more technical books on bicycle.

Family
Ties had been much stronger after death of granddad.
Between the whole family.
Sis had become more sensible.

Hmm this is what I had thought of so far at this moment.
Main piority for 2007 is the new bicycle shop.
Once it was settle then other things will come into place.

The arrival of 2007

Days before the arrival of 2007.
There had been some events before it came.
1. Christmas celebration at Ed's place.
2. BBQ session at Kel's place for his Bday.
3. Ed's bday celebration at country mana.
4. JJ ROM at SAF country club.
5. New Year count down at indoor celebration.
6. ITE bbq gathering.
So many things happen within this one week of time.
Below attached are some of the pics took for the events

28 Dec - Junjie ROM.
Simple, sweet and memorable.
Place was nice, but just a little far.
Nice surroundings.
Everything was perfect.
Went over to harbour front for dinner
Dragon Inn restaurant
Good food.
Then over to white dog cafe for coffee.
And the day just end.
So fast for the day.

31st Dec - Count down
New Year count down was indeed a very much of a surprise.
The very 1st time we got more girls over the guys.
Because Yanxi brought along another 2 friends.
Jiajia and Xingyi..
Went to indoor stadium for dinner.
Which was a disaster.
Made a whole lot of mistake..
Gave wrong number to Yanxi
Thats why went to Jumbo instead of No signboard.
Then service wise also cannot make it.
Big NO to this restaurant again.
After dinner wanna proceed to cosy bay.
But all filled up.
So just went over to the riverside in search for a place,
To view the fireworks later.
Indeed it does came.
But mostly block out by the condos.
Anyway its still a very nice view.
Then to send Yanxi n Jiajia back.
Which only to send Yanxi to outram park mrt.. :(
So only got to send Jiajia back to AMK.
Traffic Jams as usual.
In the end still get back quite late even its only AMK.
Never really make sure Jiajia got back safety.
So in the end panic.
So got to ask Yanxi to make sure she got back safety.
Because of the slow network.
So replies from Yanxi was quite slow.
Which then I only got to sleep at 3am.

1st Jan - New Year
Packing up at bicycle shop till 3.
Then went over to ed's place
For street soccer.
It was over more than a year since we last kick a ball together.
Shiok but tired.
Then went over for ite gathering
BBQ at Aloha Loyang.
And back to Ed's place for movies and EPL.
Session end.

2nd Jan - Packing
Last day of the long weekend.
Was again at shop packing.
Then went over mavis place to help her clear something
Dinner later at kovan.
Back home again.
End of holidays.

Christmas Celebration 2006

The rainy days in Singapore had dampen the mood.
Making people lazy to move away from their cosy home.
To the celebration point where people gather.
The weather had turned much better on thurs n fri.
And people seem to rush for last min shopping.
Whatever cheap and nice were snapped up.
Body shop, Action city, mini toons are a few fav place.

Saturday came the eve of xmas.
Bought the gifts and all prepared for the nite.
All over to Alex house for my 1st stop.
Had quite a spread over there.
Game session next.
Easy game, terrible punishment.
Post the pics next time round.
And perhaps the link to the video clips.
Gift exchange next.
Got my 1st book of my gift exchange from novem.
Title: The 5 person you will meet in Heaven.
And my gift, the photo frame to Jerry.
After a few photo session some of us left.

So I proceed over to Ed's place.
Reach there at ard 11.55
But also nothing special.
Cos all so much into watching Harry Porter.
So when 12 struck.
We just wish each other Merry Christmas.
And back to the movie again.
Watched Wedding Crashes.
Get the ideas for the on-coming wedding.
Left Ed's place ard 3 plus.

Woke up quite late.
Had my lunch and work at shop for awhile.
Pick up Yanxi.
And proceed over to Kel place.
BBQ session which we had not done for quite sometime
Luckily the rain stopped.
So quickly cooked up the food.
Good thing is we had finished up everything.
Nothing was wasted.
Gift exhange came next.
Everyone got what we had wished for.
But good things always end fast.
So all to proceed home again.
Christmas ended just in this way.
And boxing day came again.

Script Writing

Well, life had been a script written for you before you are born.
This will also determine what kind of life you will have down the road.
Some might born with a silver spoon.
Some born with a wooden spoon.
But life does changes along the way.
You can just upgrade from a wooden spoon to a nice silver one.
It will all based on the decision made along the way.

Watching too much TV serials gets you plenty of ideas for yourself along the way.
Seeing people working hard and not bowing to the fate.
Thats what most people should have in our life.
Want a good life.
Work for it.
Some had a good life.
Then they had to substain it.
Or grow it further up the steps.
1st type is easier to reach.
As you will be easier to be satisfied.
So once you got a little better life, you stop at the level.
If you are the 2nd type when you need to substain it.
There will be a different type of pressure faced.
You got to make sure it will not drop below standard.
Cos people expect you to grow from there.

Indeed now people see me like Im born with a silver spoon.
But mind you, my life wasnt in this way before I was in Sec 2.
Before that my dad was working hard for my granddad.
The only thing he know was to work and work with no play.
And my dad only receive little for what he had sweat for.
Not that I had a bad life then.
It was then when I learn how to save up.
Ensure that I do not spend more than what I can afford.
So my savings grew from there.
After my dad took over the realms from my granddad.
Life also doesnt change immediately.
But soon results were shown.
Which grew on till now.

Being thrifty is a virtue.
Being stingy is an error.
Nobody would like to see a stingy friend or a spendthrift one.
Everytime you got to set budget on your spending.
So you will not over spend on your budget.
Spending too much still can cut by by own discipline.
The stingy one is likely to be an unsightful one.
This is someone whom my buddies and I had experience for years.
If you ever see this kind of friend.
When you had advise him for years.
And yet he doesnt change.
So what will be the consequences faced?
He will be left with no friends.
Just so simple.
The script written for his life had indeed being very funny.
Can be written up and be film as a short movie.
Or a blockbuster titled, The Stingy Man

How about writing another story on, Love affairs.
On how love evolves then revolves.
When some to keep on a long endurance ride on a miserable journey.
Some to keep in waiting for the one to appear.
Then some to experience heartaches when the journey makes a turn.
And some to see unmatached coming together.
Woah this stories can be written just like any HK drama.
Ok, this shall be the next little drama to write on.
This kind of script is for everyone, anyone.
The way of life.

Life has indeed been different for all people.
You can never find a double of you in your life.
Too many things to post.
But quite alot did halfway thru only..

Year End 2006

The year 2006 is coming to an end.
Soon we shall await for the brand new 2007 to arrive.
Christmas is just right around the corner.
Bonus and clearing leave are the few main things.
Some targets had been achieved.
Wheras some still far away.
Indeed the progress for this year had been rather smooth.
Even though nothing great had been done so far.
For I see a better 2007 ahead for me.

Sometimes I wondered if my life had been so good.
There's still too much regrets for me to bear.
Some of the little decisions may came too wrong.
Some times some how I wondered if I did the right thing.
Or choose the right path to take.
And making the right decisions.
Thats life.
Decisions gonna be made.
Be it good or bad it will turn out to be.
This why you can only choose to look ahead.
And dun turn back on which path you had once chosen.
If not there will be too much of wrong decisions in your life.

In 2006 what I had done so far.
- Getting my diploma.
- Start my degree course.
- Did my 1st full time job at DLS
- Had been blogging nearly all my stuffs here..
- Changed a new layout for my blog.

So what will be my new aim for 2007
- Work harder for even better grades for my semester 2.
- Do up the new shop
- Start the search for the one.
- Start soccer, cycling and other sports again

Guess that 2007 will be focus on my work, life and studies.
Other than this there might be some other relavant ones.
Then will try to put it up later.

The Moody Ben

The someone has told me that I had been moody recently.
Perhaps much due to the dismiss of my granddad.
Thus feeling lethagic.
At times seem not much bother of the on-going stuffs.
This is why the someone says that I had been moody.
Which I cant explain how am I that moody?
Or perhaps too much things had happen on the way.

The someone then said,
If you are sad, then I shall be sad.
Do you want to see me sad.
Oh goosh,
I had told the someone before that I will not like to see you sad.
So what to do.
Cannot be sad anymore..
If not my promise is just like a piece of shit.

Is the someone the someone that I had been looking for..
For the someone still belongs to the someone keeping for..
As this someone is someone who might be waiting for..
Or perhaps someone is lusting over this someone..
Might be in so complicated scenario
But who is this someone.
Someone oh someone..
Some might know some might not know
Indeed still searching hard for the someone..
The one who will bring joy to your heart.
The one to share sorrows with you by the side..
Guess this type of people are fast disappearing..

I guess this thing might had happen to some of you before.
But never guess that this has indeed turn my day upside down.
It happen on 30th Nov when I should be preparing to go BKK.
Wake up quite early in the morning to surf soccernet 1st.
While chatting with one friend.
Cos cant finish packing the stuffs and still having headaches..
So dun feel like going liao.
I was thinking of saying, You dun go, I dun go too..
Then receive a call from Grandma,
She said, Granddad seem not feeling very well.
Asking us to go over to see him or drive him to doc.
So I was assuring my mum that nothing will happen.
Cos I will be going Bangkok soon, when Im back Granddad will be fine then.
Then at ard 0930hrs the news struck.
My mum called from shop and said that my Granddad has pass away.
At that point of time Im on the verge of taking a lift from Edward to Changi.
All of a sudden, everything changes..
Jovial mood to the unexplainable kind of feeling.
I felt lost, I dunno what to do.
Msn my friends that I cant go BKK liao, too much things to do..

Drove over to pick up my parents and sisters.
Then we proceed over to the undertaker shop at Kallang Bahru.
One stop service shop by someone we know.
So at least everything will be done up nice nice..
Went over to punggol after we settle with the undertaker.
When we reach there, granddad already been cover up..
At then I broke down again.
The pain was so immerse.
Thinking, Oh God why.. Why cant we hear his last words.
Why change my day to a 100% different mood.

Paper works, blah blah blah took up half of the day.
By the time we reach back from doing the reports n booking
Halfday already gone.
Too many things ought to be done.
Before dinner, one prayer and thats the last time I ever see him again.
Cos the coffin was closed up then.
Broke down again.
Then at nite few xiong di come along.
JJ, Ed, Weili, mr Lee n mr spider also turn up..
Always there's some insensible guy doing some ridiculous stuffs.
Shall not elaborate here.
I guess those who are present there will know what I mean.
Some times we really dun understand why we got such a friend.
Are we cursed?? or we being kind..

The next few days pass very fast.
And sunday came too soon.
We will be sending my granddad for ceremation at mandai.
The sky start to rain..
Seem that the whole thing will not proceed until it stop raining.
Immediately after I kneel down and pray to him.
The rain just stop.
Even I was stunned.
Reaching there, perform a small ritual and the final part came.
This time the kind of pain was so unbearable..
Till I lost control of myself.
Fist clenching, crying..
I had scared the hell of my mum and aunt.
Trying to calm me down..
Simple it seem on surface..
But how would they know how I feel..
The pain seem to be in me for years to come.

Collection of the ash in the noon
Also have so many to follow.
Sending it to the Foo Hai Ch'an
Then packing it into the urn.
With us placing the bones of the head.
Before sending it into the 'condo'
All I can say is pain, real pain..

Things end on sunday.
Monday was still on leave.
Then dad fall sick sudden.
And my sis n I work till evening.
In attempt to allow some rest for my dad.
Recover from fatigue.
And manage to get a high turnover for tat day.
Guess its a blessing from my granddad.
For a sudden my sis willing to help out.
The tough work needed to do the job.
They also dun mind.

This was what had happen in the past few days.
And this very entry took me a long time to write..

Blogless and plans for 2007

Its has been a few days since I last blog..
Well for me there isnt anything happen..
Still the very same old ben that anyone knew..
There might be slight, little or even nothing had happen..

Just awaiting for Bangkok trip to come fast..
Take a nice break and await for any bonus coming up..
After which I shall see if I can see any increment for me..
Before I left DLS to work on my own.

2007 might be on of the busiest year in my life.
I got to cope with the new shop and doing my degree.
Thus I got to give my VSC role.
No more nite duties of 7-11, Ops or any National Events.
The main aim of 2007 is to do up the new Seng Bee.
To get everything up and stable within six mths into it.
I know it will be hard.
But with the support of my friends, dad's old customer.
The new customers in the area.
I guess it might be much easier for me..

Afterwhich my studies in SIM.
Into the second semester and just another 2 years.
I will be through graduated with a degree.
Tough life indeed but I will keep going.
Some ask...
Why get a degree when you had plans to do bicycle??
Well, my reply was always...
So many of my friends got a degree so why not.
I even had plans for MBA after doing my degree.
Got to always upgrade onself in order to see something different.

Thats what I had plan so far within the 2 years of my life.
This is the path which I will take for my career/hobbies.
Dun you think it will be such a good business always.
Be it cycling as transportation, hobbies, sports or for slimming down.
There is so much need for a bicycle.
The always rising fare for public transport,
The always expensive cars.

Imagine how much you can save if you can actually cycle to work.
How much healthier you can be by exercising.
How much better our environment will be with lesser exhaust air.
Meanwhile can only think of these few good points in mind.

Cycling can also be a healthy workout if you want to slim down.
Dun like to cycle outside on road.
There is personal trainer which enables you to do it at home.
Together with a healthy diet, results would be seen fast.
Will soon work out a plan with a sports diet consultant.
It shall be a plus point to use cycling to look slimmer and healthier.

Ideas will be coming out soon...
Will be trying to source parts and accessories soon.
Making ourself to be the sole distributor and sorts.
Wanna push this new shop to a yearly turnover of 500k by 2nd year.
Then other plans in my life would have come into place.

Think and plan of such..
Work for onself, you will see the results from the fruits you bear.
Slog for others pushes them even further up the earning tables.
So since still young why not come out and do something great..
Do something you will feel proud of yourself.
Cos once you missed the period of time.
You will not have the guts anymore..

Thats what anthony and me had missed..
We actually had a plan in 2003 to have a all in entertainment outlet for everyone.
Something like what cineleisure is having now.
Cinema, pool, arcade, lan gaming, bowling, ktv..
All this in one area for 24hrs..
Too bad we are not rich businessman who can invest.
So we can only talk about it.
And see people doing it..
Perhaps this life.
Money makes wonder..
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer..
We actually had 55,000 Singaporeans who are millionaires.
US1million I mean..

So lets work hard towards it..
To get 1million in life, not accounting to the assets.
But 1million in liquid funds.
Then people will look at you differently.

Run 1

Run 1 is a total new thing from Jog 1.
Jog was meant for the runs I did in the gym
While run will be meant for the runs outside.
Did my 1st run at Bedok Res.
Completed the whole course in 40min
Seem a little slow.
Distance cover should be more than 4.3km.
Indeed a very nice workout.
The stunning part was not I had jog there.
Its with who I had jog with.
My sec sch classmate.
Never ever think that I would ever do it.

The Jog was nice with some catch up for the past 8 years.
So much things had happen
So much things had been mistaken
So much things to be remembered
So much of a surprise
Thats so much for the time being..

Run 2 will come soon..
With the target of getting it done below 30min

New Shop

Well on the 15th Nov 2006,
My dad had decided on the location of the new shop to be.
It shall be located at Blk 5 Upper Boon Keng Rd #01-12.
Handover date will be around mid dec.
So plans had to make fast...

Got to make a payment of 92% of the value. 485K
So got to look for bank loans liao.
And trying to compare and get the cheapest interest rates.
After which got to look at the renovation
Due to space constraint,
The whole shop shall be fully utilised to the ceiling.
After doing the sums for the major cash flow.
Then comes the monthly expenses.
The utility charges, salary all came into place.

From a conservative point of view
4.5K will be needed for the payments of such loans n bills.
Which means to say $150 profit had to be generated to cover such cost.
This is the 1st time in my life that I felt this much of pressure..
Cause Im afraid that I cant match what I want for myself.
For the achievement my dad has done.
To match him would be hard and not to say surpass him.
Unless I can hit a turnover of ard 1200 per day.
I would have pocketed a nice handsome profit.

Well, you see me posting the number of jogs I done.
Now I shall post on how I know about my friends and sorts.
Rather than posting on their friendster's testi.
How we met till what-so-ever..
Got this inspiration from this very lady I shall blog on.
Xiaoli shall be the first person.

Get to know this cute lady in DLS since 3rd April 2006.
She was my course mate during poly and blind as I.
Never saw her in poly before.
Sociable girl saw her blend into my group of classmates
1st day lunch at Hong Lim complex during our orientation lunch break.
Furthermore the medical checkup we went in such a big group.
Indeed very friendly which breaks the ice of unfamiliarity.

She was 'posted' to the same team with one of my classmate.
Thank goodness her temper should be real good..
Only until recently when she cant stand it anymore.
However at times she can be Attitude..
'I Slap U' are her favourite verse.
Or 'bored', 'Boooo' are the other few.
Online purchase of clothings from 'Mr Q' 'Missilover'
Never knew that she was still so young

Whats more about her..
I guess meanwhile only can write up to here.

Jog 4

Ya did my Jog 4..
But a very short one only..
It had told me that consistency is very important.

After 4 days of slacking.
Then when I go up the threadmill.
I just go push myself as hard.

Set the speed at 13.0 in order to hit 2.4km below 12min
Then only 3min through the run of 600m
Game over for me.
Cant carry on anymore.

Rest for awhile and do it at speed 8.0
Then only managed to do another 7mins and die off again.
So went over to the cycling section.
Did the fats burn and also for another 10mins.

Thats all for the exercise yesternite.
Tonight shall run again.
But I feel that I can do much better.

Cos yesternite was another warm up session.
Shall do:
5min of speed 13.0
10min of speed 8.0
10min of speed 9.0
5min of speed 10.0
Shall see how it goes later..
